Docemax 120 mg is a drug intended for the treatment of malignant neoplasms. Most often used to treat oncology of the breast, ovaries, stomach, head and cervical region, as well as the prostate gland. The drug is prescribed both for monotherapy and in combination with other drugs. Docemax is part of the taxane group. Their action is based on slowing the development of pathogenic cells.
Side effects of the drug
During the therapeutic course, the following problems may arise:
- From the side of the heart. Hypotension, abnormal heart rhythm (tachycardia, arrhythmia or bradycardia), blood clot formation in the deep veins, unstable ECG readings, heart attack, blood clot formation in the lung, which will lead to fainting;
- CNS. Physical malaise and constant weakness, neurosensory symptoms, problems with clarity of consciousness, cramps, especially with muscle strain, loss of consciousness for a short period of time;
- Skin. Hair loss, severe allergic reactions, changes in the shade of nails;
- Eyes, ENT organs. Conjunctivitis, increased tearing, transient vision abnormalities, including flashes or the presence of “fog” in the eyes.
- Gastrointestinal tract. An ulcer in the mouth, strong loose stools, vomiting, sudden nausea, improper functioning of the lingual papillae, pain in the abdomen. Partial or complete refusal of food, an inflammatory process in the small part of the colon, dehydration caused by reactions in the gastrointestinal tract, etc. are also possible. In rare cases, severe constipation is present, blocking the intestines;
- Genitourinary system. Kidney failure;
- Blood. The levels of various blood cells, including platelets and leukocytes, decrease. There is a risk of anemia;
- Liver. Excess of enzymes produced by the organ, development of drug-induced hepatitis;
- Hypersensitivity. The most severe form of the reaction is possible;
- Local. The presence of a reaction in the infusion area, inflammation in the vein, redness, drying of the skin, swelling of the vein;
- Metabolism. Liquid is removed with a delay;
- From the ODA side. Severe pain in joints and muscles;
- From the respiratory tract. Severe swelling of the lungs, difficulty breathing, acute respiratory distress syndrome, the appearance of scars on paired organs.
Method of use of the drug
The medicine is produced in the form of a liquid intended for injection into a vein. Infusion is carried out once every 21 days.
Contraindications
Persons who have suffered a serious illness from the previous infusion, as well as those who have a severe allergic reaction to the solvent or polysorbate 80 should refrain from using the product. Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and patients with severe liver failure are also prohibited from taking the therapeutic course.
Taking precautions during treatment
Patients experience pain in muscles or joints. The hands may burn or become numb. If such symptoms are present, you should inform your doctor.

Routine vaccinations are not carried out during the course.
