Enzalutagen — instructions for use
The main active component of the drug is the substance enzalutamide 40 mg. The medicine contains no additional substances.
Release form
The medicine is available in capsules. Each package contains 120 capsules.
Pharmacological properties
The substance enzalutamide acts as an androgen receptor inhibitor, affecting different stages of the disease. The drug promotes inhibition and binding of androgens to their receptors, while simultaneously provoking the translocation of receptors and further interaction with DNA cells. Thanks to this, it is possible to reduce the proliferation of prostate cancer cells, due to which apoptosis and tumor shrinkage occur. The drug helps reduce the effect of testosterone on the functioning of the adrenal glands. Thanks to the action of the drug, cancer cells lose the ability to reproduce.
Pharmacokinetics
The drug completely dissolves in the human body in just 3 hours. The active substance is concentrated in the liver, after which it is evenly distributed throughout the tumor, actively acting on cancer cells. Having completed its task, 50% of the drug is eliminated within 3-11 days.
