Tamoxigen-20 — instructions for use

The drug Tamoxigen-20 is made from tamoxifen, which is an active estrogen inhibitor. Initially, the synthesis of tamoxifen was associated with attempts to control birth rates using hormonal drugs, and the drug was registered in 1962. The high effectiveness of the drug as an estrogen inhibitor allows it to be successfully used in antitumor therapy in the treatment of cancer.

Indications

Breast cancer in menopausal women, breast cancer in men after castration, kidney cancer, melanoma (containing estrogen receptors), ovarian cancer; prostate cancer with resistance to other drugs.

Tamoxifen (Tamoxigen-20) is effective in the treatment of any cancer in the presence of estrogen dependence. First of all, these are breast tumors. The drug can also be used as a prophylactic agent if there is a predisposition to breast cancer.

List of contraindications for use:

• Pregnancy.
• Breastfeeding (stops lactation).
• Childhood age of the patient.
• Individual intolerance to the components of the product.

In what cases is additional consultation and special monitoring required?

Certain diseases, including those with a history, require special attention to the patient and selection of a drug dosage regimen.

Such diseases include:

• Thromboembolism.
• Diabetes.
• Eye diseases.
• Severe disturbances in the functioning of the liver and kidneys.
• Lactose intolerance or hypersensitivity to it.

Additional recommendations

During treatment with tamoxifen, you should not engage in activities that require special attention and concentration, including driving a car. During treatment, regular monitoring of blood tests, including coagulation parameters, is required. It is not recommended to prescribe tamoxifen in complex therapy using estrogen-containing hormonal drugs.

When carrying out complex therapy using other drugs from various groups, careful selection of the combination and dosage of drugs is required in order to prevent the development of side effects and maintain the effectiveness of treatment. The selection of a treatment regimen and control of the dosage of the drug should be carried out only by the attending physician.

Method of administration

The drug is taken once or twice every day for 1-3 months, depending on the doctor’s prescription. They take the pills. Drink water, regardless of meal time.

Overdose symptoms

An overdose as a result of taking tamoxifen can lead to tremors of the limbs, impaired coordination of movements, dizziness, and weakness. Symptomatic treatment is recommended.
