1 ml of solution contains cisplatin in terms of 100% substance — 0.5 mg.
Pharmacological properties
Cisplatin is a cytotoxic drug with alkylating action. The antitumor effect of the drug Cisplatin is based on its ability by alkylation to cause irreversible processes of disruption of DNA stability, which leads to suppression of nucleic acid synthesis for a long time and cell death. The ability of the drug Cisplatin to cause regression of both the primary tumor and metastases is also associated with the effect of this drug on the immune system.
Indications for use
Separately or in complex therapy (together with other antitumor drugs) for malignant neoplasms of the ovaries and testicles, bladder cancer, cervical cancer, squamous cell carcinoma localized in the head and neck region, osteogenic sarcoma; in the complex treatment of lymphogranulomatosis, lymphosarcoma; cancer of the ureters and renal pelvis, bladder, urethra, Ewing’s sarcoma, retinoblastoma, neuroblastoma, medulloblastoma, uterine chorionic carcinoma, lung cancer, mesothelioma, malignant thymoma.
Directions for use and doses
Cisplatin is used intravenously only. For monotherapy, the dosage of the drug is 20 mg per 1 square meter. body surface once a day for 5 days, or 30 mg per 1 square meter. for 3 days, or 100-150 mg per 1 sq.m. Once every 3 weeks. The interval between courses of therapy is 3 weeks. The total number of required courses is selected by the doctor, taking into account the nosological unit and stage of the disease.
Overdose
In case of overdose, impaired renal function, liver function, visual impairment (including retinal detachment) and hearing (deafness), severe myelosuppression, uncontrollable nausea and vomiting and/or neuritis may occur. Treatment is symptomatic.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Cisplatin is contraindicated during pregnancy. In cases where Cisplatin must be used during lactation, a decision should be made to stop breastfeeding.
Side effects
When using Cisplatin, anorexia, stomatitis, nausea, and vomiting are possible; thrombocytopenia, anemia, leukopenia;peripheral neuropathy, convulsions, impaired light perception, auditory neuritis, ototoxic effect; azoospermia, amenorrhea; arterial hypotension, tachycardia; allergic reactions: hoarseness, angioedema, skin rash; nephrotoxic effect.
Contraindications
Cisplatin is contraindicated in cases of liver and kidney pathology, disorders of bone marrow hematopoiesis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, circulatory failure, pregnancy, and individual intolerance.
Special Warnings
Cisplatin and drugs that have ototoxic and nephrotoxic effects should not be prescribed simultaneously.
Patients of childbearing age taking the drug should use reliable methods of contraception.
Cisplatin is not recommended for use in patients with chickenpox, herpes zoster, or other infectious diseases.
This drug should be used with caution in patients with gout and nephrolithiasis, as well as in patients who have previously received radiation therapy or cytotoxic chemotherapy.
Before starting and during Cisplatin therapy, it is necessary to monitor hematological indicators, laboratory indicators of kidney and liver function, water and electrolyte balance, as well as uric acid levels, audiometric and neurological indicators.
During treatment with Cisplatin, patients and their family members are not recommended to undergo vaccination.

The drug should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 10°C.
